Luscious Lunar Snowskin Mooncake Gift Box

Salted Egg Yolk. The traditional lotus paste mooncake, rebuilt. Molten salted egg yolk in the middle that bursts when you cut it, lotus paste around it, and crisp pumpkin seed running through. Savoury against sweet, which is the whole point of it.

Pandan Gula Melaka. Pandan lotus paste with a salted gula melaka and pandan centre. The pandan is floral, the palm sugar is caramelly, and the salt stops the two of them turning into syrup.

Matcha Red Bean. Matcha lava over red bean paste, with black sesame lava underneath. Bitter, sweet and nutty at once. This is the one to give someone who says mooncakes are too sweet.

Halal certified. Every flavour in the box — salted egg yolk, pandan gula melaka and matcha red bean.

Size: each mooncake is 5.5cm x 5.5cm x 2.5cm and weighs 85g. Six to a box.

Keep them cold. Fridge or freezer, out of the sun and away from anywhere humid. Snowskin isn't built to sit on a counter in Malaysian weather.

Take them out ten minutes before you serve. Straight from the fridge the centres are still firm and you miss half of it. Ten minutes on the plate and they soften up.

Is there a discount if I buy a few boxes?

Yes. Pick the six-box set and it's RM690 — that's six boxes for what five would cost you. Choose it from the Quantity option rather than adding single boxes one at a time, because six singles come to RM828. Sending twelve? Two sets, and the same saving doubles. The price is already in, nothing to key in at checkout. Six boxes works out to RM115 each, which is why most of the office orders land there. If you need them going to different addresses on one invoice, message us on WhatsApp and we'll sort it.

What's actually in the box?

Six mooncakes, two each of three flavours, in a gift box. Salted egg yolk, pandan gula melaka, and matcha red bean. Each one is 85g and about 5.5cm square, so it's a two or three bite mooncake rather than the heavy traditional size. Three flavours means nobody at the table has to settle for the one they don't like.

What's snowskin? How is it different?

It isn't baked. The skin is a soft glutinous rice dough that stays chilled, closer to mochi than to the golden baked mooncake you're picturing. Lighter, less sweet, and it's the only way to get a molten centre. Put a lava filling in an oven and it sets.

Are these very sweet?

Less than most. That's on purpose. The salted egg yolk is savoury against the lotus paste, the gula melaka has salt in it to stop it going syrupy, and the matcha is properly bitter. If you've given up on mooncakes because they all taste like sugar, start with the matcha one.

Are these halal?

Yes. All three flavours are halal certified — salted egg yolk, pandan gula melaka and matcha red bean — so the box carries our halal mark, same as the rest of the range. Send it to anyone without having to ask first.

Is the lotus paste real?

Yes. Real lotus paste, not green bean with a bit of lotus in it. It's the expensive way to do it and it's the reason the salted egg yolk one tastes the way it does.

Can I send it straight to someone else?

That's what most people do. Put their address in at checkout and add a message card on this page. No prices or invoices go in the box, so it arrives as a gift and not a delivery.
